Aluminium slats with an intumescent core are set into a welded and plated steel frame incorporating a 2 mm thermal break to minimise heat conduction. At a temperature of 140°-150° Celsius the intumescent core swells to many times the original thickness. The louvres fuse together to form a non-combustible barrier. In effect the grilles act as a static fire barrier. The grille must be fixed with fasteners and/or intumescent mastic. Free-air space approx. 80%.
Application
These grilles allow free movement of air through ducts and fire rated constructions. They can be used outside or in industrial environments, but must be protected with a fixed louvred ventilator or a louvred grille.
