G8K Mastic, fire resistant
On exposure to heat GAVO flexible mastic expands in volume and a thin layer of protective char is formed on the exposed surface. Depending on the materials joined and the dimensions of the joint up to 4 hours of fire integrity can be maintained.
Application
Where differential movement is expected GAVO intumescent gun grade mastic should be used. It is non setting but, once applied, rapidly develops a surface skin and within 24 hours forms a resilient tack -free seal which may be painted if required. Used in combination with a GAVO fire resistant grille the joint should not be wider than 3 mm. The mastic can be used for sealing gaps between all kinds of fire resistant constructions.Standard
